Welcome to Emotional Regulation: Coping through Art Group for kids led by Sherry Walsh LCSWA. This is an open group designed to provide a safe, supportive environment to learn emotional regulation coping skills. For ages 8-11.

attending all sessions is not required but is recommended. It is not required that you are in individual therapy, though it is encouraged that you have outside support of some kind to process any discoveries that may arise in group therapy. If you are using insurance it is required that you have one individual session with Sherry prior to joining the group.

At the beginning of each session group rules will be read and safety questions will be asked. We will also do a short introduction, allowing everyone to become acquainted with each other and become comfortable in the space. Following that we will go over one or two art activities per group.

Wednesdays from 4-5 pm except for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s starting December.

We can bill BCBS and Aetna but you will be required to schedule a one on one session with Sherry prior to joining the group. For individuals who do not have one of the health insurances listed above a self pay sliding fee of $50 per session is available.

This is an in person group. The group will be at at Caring Mind Counseling PLLC in Boone NC STE 3. The address will be provided upon admittance to the group.

The group will be filled on a first come first serve basis and is limited to 6 people per group. To sign up you will have a free phone consultation with Sherry to make sure the group is a good fit for you and your needs, then she will get you into the system officially. To schedule make sure you pick Sherry and a time that works best in your schedule.
